Pattern Correction Page

We are very grateful that many quilters have chosen our patterns to make beautiful creations. Here is the place to look for any changes, or clarifications, that have been made to Blue Bear Quilt Patterns. We try very hard to make sure there are no mistakes, or omissions, in our patterns, but unfortunately this will occasionally happen, even with several people going over every detail and testing the patterns. You have our sincere apologies for any inconvenience they may have caused. We hope that you will forgive us and understand that things happen.

BRIGHT HOPE PATTERN #112

If you don’t have version 2, which is listed next to pattern BBQ#112, there is a correction in the materials on page 8. On that page, #s 5 and 6 have been corrected to show the correct orientation of the colors and the correct number of pieces to make for one block.

There is also a correction in the materials on page 9 and 10. Those pages now show the correct orientation of the piece in the upper right hand corner located in Row 1 and Column C. All the other diagrams of that piece were corrected as well.

SEAHORSES IN THE REEDS PATTERN #117

If you don’t have version 2.2, which is listed next to pattern BBQ #117, there is a diagram on page 12 and 13 that has an incorrect orientation. The diagram below has the correct orientation for page 12. Also please note there is some additional helpful text in bold at the end of #3.

4. The resulting diagram on page 13
should look like this.

If you don’t have version 2.1, which is listed next to pattern BBQ#117, there is a correction in the materials list on the back page for the second item, which should be Quilting Treasures Oceana Prism 27106 Q Turquoise, instead of 27106 PV, which is pink. This typo is also on page 4, Materials, as the second item.

There is also a correction in the cutting directions on page 7 for the Triangle in a square sides (TIS-sides). The revised cutting directions on page 7  are in the diagram below.

PIXIE PARTY PATTERN #119

If you don’t have version 2, which is listed next to pattern BBQ#119, there is a correction in the materials on page 5. To the first sentence, with a bullet, on page 5, there should be added 1/3 yard of green paint (27098 G) for blocks. This should also be added to the second box, on the left, in the fabric table on the back to reflect .33 yard of green paint (27098G).

TIFFANY’S GARDEN TABLE RUNNER PATTERN # 135

If you don’t have version 2, which is listed next to pattern BBQ#135, there is a correction in the materials on page 7, #5, where the square units were incorrectly oriented. Below is the corrected diagram.

On page 10, #14, the flying geese units were incorrectly oriented. Below is the corrected diagram.

On page 4, in the cutting instructions for the 2″ half square triangle, the Accuquilt cutting section should say that it yields 4 HSTs instead of 2; and in the # of shapes section, that means that there are only 12 rough cuts of the black, instead of 24, if using Accuquilt, and 6 rough cuts of the green, instead of 12, if using Accuquilt.

Also, on page 4, in the rotary cutting instructions for the 2″ HST, the green and black fabrics should be cut into 2 -3/8″ strips and then cut into 2-3/8″ squares instead of the 2-7/8″ measurement. If you have already cut the HSTs, they can be corrected by trimming 1/2″ off one of the sides that form a right angle (not the diagonal side).

Finally, on page 4, in the bottom row of the Accuquilt column, the finished measurement should be 1-1/2” and not 1-1/5”.

FAITH, HOPE & LOVE QUILT PATTERN # 134

If you don’t have version 2, which is listed next to pattern BBQ#134, the cover picture now reflects that the outer border is cut from the width of fabric.

On page 4, in the rotary cutting instructions for the 5″ quarter square triangle, the measurements for both the strip and the square should be 6-1/4″, instead of 6-3/16.”

On page 8, in the top of the table where it says “Star Blocks,” the correct measurement of the unfinished block is 15-1/2″, instead of the stated 15.”

ZANY ZASU QUILT PATTERN # 130

If you don’t have BBQ #130, version 2, there is an update to the yardage for the Cream Swirls. The amount has been increased to 2 yards for rotary cutting and 2-1/2 yards if using Accuquilt to cut, which will allow for some extra fabric. The original amount stated for Accuquilt cutting is the exact amount at 2 yards. Also, you would need exactly 1.75 yards for rotary cutting, unless you cut 4-3/4″ strips and use the attached template to cut the TIS at an angle by flipping the template up and down across the strip and then the original 1-1/2 yards would suffice.

On page 5, in the rotary cutting column for the 2-1/2″ square, it should say “Cut (1) each, maroon flowers, light blue, rust circles and black spots; and (2) yellow; and (4) cream swirls 2-1/2” strips x WOF and then sub cut into 2- 1/2” squares.” In the #shapes and color column, it should say “(16), each, (need 4 rough cuts) of maroon flowers, light blue, rust circles and black spots; (32) (need 8 rough cuts) of yellow and (64) (need 16 rough cuts) of cream swirls. The rust circles had been mistakenly left out.

RIDING THE WAVES PATTERN #155

If you don’t have BBQ #155, version 2: Helpful hint– Under block assembly #9, using the cover picture, note that 50% of the fussy cut sea life creatures need to be rotated 180 degrees for the quilt to look exactly like the cover. Otherwise, all the blocks are constructed the same.

MOROCCAN MORNINGS PATTERN # 187

There is a correction to the back page only where two fabrics were omitted from the materials list. Inside material list is correct. Also needed for this pattern is 1/3 yard, each, of (29729 V) (Pink Flower) and (29733 V) (Pink) for blocks.

Note: it is highly suggested that you use a specialty ruler which makes a 4-1/2″ unfinished triangle in a square, such as the Studio 180 V-Block Tool, Peaky and Spike, or the Tri-Recs ruler. This block finishes up to a 4-1/2″ unfinished block with little to no trimming when using the rotary cutting instructions. With the rotary cutting instructions, it requires very accurate cutting, stitching and pressing. The use of a specialty ruler should create a slightly oversized block, which may then be trimmed down.
