Blue Bear Quilts was founded to help the beginner quilter get started on a new and fun hobby. Blue Bear Quilt patterns are designed to be easy for the beginning quilter, and stylish for the more advanced quilter, to make a quilt that they will be proud to display in their home or to give as a present to someone special.

 

 

Blue Bear’s head designer, Reed Johnson, was an attorney for 35 years and chose to pursue his love of quilting. He has taken several courses with nationally known quilt instructors at APQS shows and several quilt designing courses at Electric Quilt University. He has taught nationally and is a certified Quilt-in-a-Day quilt instructor. He is known for his bold patterns and his kindness and patience when teaching. In 2016, he won the Fan Favorite in the Accuquilt Block Design Challenge and in 2017, he was the Grand Champion of the same contest. He currently designs quilt patterns for Accuquilt.
